Columbia County, by and through its Parks Department, intends to enter into a contract with a timber harvest contractor to harvest all standing and down merchantable timber on approximately 16 acres, from Columbia County owned forestland known as “Camp Wilkerson,” approximately 15 miles northeast of Vernonia. The areas are located in Sections 9 and 16, T. 5N, R. 3W. The County anticipates that the timber will consist of over 90% Douglas Fir, with the remainder being a mix of Hemlock, Alder, and Cedar. All logs are required to be processed domestically. The area can be shovel logged or skidded.

Bids will be received until 4:00 p.m. on April 8, 2019 at the Columbia County Parks Department offices at 230 Strand St. St. Helens, OR 97051. In order for bids to be considered, bids must be received by the designated time at the Columbia County Board of Commissioners offices. Bids must be written in the Bid Form approved by the County. Bids must be delivered marked “Camp Wilkerson Timber Harvest Bid 2019”. Conforming bids will be publically opened and reviewed by Casey Garrett, Columbia County General Services Director, immediately after the bid closing date and time.

Columbia County reserves the right to waive minor informalities in the bids received. The County may also reject any bids not in compliance with all prescribed requirements and may with good cause, reject any or all bids upon a finding by the County that it is in the public interest to do so.
