Recycling Sales Specialist

Basic Functions: This position is responsible for the sales and product knowledge of Organic Recycling, Biomass,
Tree Care and Wood Waste Processing industries for sales and rentals. This position will provide growth in market
share, achieve revenues and gross margin growth, provide sales, training, demonstrations and support to customers,
and assist customers with equipment selections appropriate to their needs and projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Market Development:
 Provide assistance to customers through product knowledge and training
 Assist in training, meetings, documentation, quotes, bid specs and other literature as needed for sale
 Be available to assist factory representative or customer as needed with recycling and wood waste
 Perform product demonstrations to educate the customer on key features and benefits of Vermeer and
other OEM products
 Develop strong communications with customer including aftermarket to ensure customer satisfaction
 Ensure that recycling accounts and conquest accounts are targeted and relationships are built
 Review monthly UCCs to identify market share opportunities
 Monitor and execute daily prospecting and cold calling on current and non‐Vermeer recycling accounts
 Focus on building a field reputation as being the industry expert to the recycling accounts
2. Sales Tracker/Reviews
 Update customer accounts when contact is made to ensure current contacts and titles are maintained
for all employees
 Work with management in strategic planning
 Responsible for completing Call Reports and Customer Hot List on a weekly basis which will be used to
track deals
 Provide accurate and professional price quotes to customers in a timely manner
 Ability to evaluate customers equipment and give accurate trade allowances with assistance of sales
 Maintain accurate information (i.e., quotes given, notes, equipment purchased, sales reports, etc.) of
customers account utilizing existing database
 Competence in accurately completing Warranty Cards, Delivery Agreements, Demonstration
Agreements, Rental Agreements, Financial Documents, and any other related documentation and
provide them in required time frame
 Required to follow proper recording procedures when transporting equipment from the dealership
 Required to follow up with unpaid equipment invoices
 Required to follow proper procedure (Prep Orders) for preparing equipment for sale, rental, or
demonstration and give adequate notice to service department for equipment inspection

Desired minimum experience, education and skills required:
 Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. College degree a plus.
 Previous Industry experience desired. Must have a minimum of two years sales experience.
 Forklift certification is required.
 CDL and clean driving record is a requirement.
