U.S. Secretary of Ag visits Kentucky mill

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue’s third RV Tour since he took office just under a year ago visited Morehead last Thursday afternoon as he toured Harold White Lumber Company for a few hours.

During Perdue’s brief media availability, the Secretary discussed recent proposed tariffs between the U.S. and China, along with his prospective of the pilot hemp project currently being implemented in Kentucky.

The tour’s mission was for the Secretary to hear ideas and concerns from local farmers, agriculture students and researchers, business owners, community leaders, and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) employees.
