Wyoming State Forestry Division launches “Don’t Move Firewood” campaign

The Wyoming State Forestry Division has kicked off an initiative to raise public awareness about the potential for transporting tree-killing insects and diseases in firewood.

This “Don’t Move Firewood” effort is targeted at tourists, particularly the anticipated influx of visitors coming into Wyoming for the August 21 eclipse, many of whom will be campers from outside the state. Billboards conveying the “Don’t Move Firewood” message will be placed along major highway routes entering the state so the message can be seen by drivers as they come into Wyoming. The campaign is scheduled to run from August 14 to September 11, 2017.
