Happy New Year, and looking into 2012

dreamstimefree_Dmitry SudakovI and the staff at FBN hope your Christmas holiday was as wonderful as ours.

We’ve got lots going on as we move into the new year.

Free Forest Business Technical Assistance

I have been, and will continue to be, busy with FBN’s consulting services. Primarily, I’m helping the BitterRoot Economic Development District with the Forest Business Technical Assistance Project, which offers free technical assistance to eligible Montana logging companies, sawmills or other forest-related businesses. Free services can include business and financial planning, marketing and management assistance, and assistance with technical feasibility studies. The project primarily works with forest businesses in the Mineral, Missoula or Ravalli counties of Montana (or those that can show benefit to one or all of these counties). Feel free to contact me to see if your business is eligible by calling 406.240.0300, or using our contact form.

Small Log Conference and Webinars

FBN is also hard at work putting together our co-chairs and steering committee for the 6th bi-annual Small Log Conference, to be held in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in March 2013. We’ve got some big plans for this event and look forward to fleshing it out early in the new year. We’re also planning some interesting webinars throughout 2012 that will tie into the conference. We’ll keep you posted on those when we finalize the dates and details.

Free Marketing for Your Business?

And as always, we continue to build on and improve both this website and our new forest business classified listing website—which should be your new secret marketing weapon, by the way, because it’s absolutely free to post ads and it’s growing in eyeball views and listings by the day. As long as it’s focused on the forest products industry, the classified site allows you to brand your company, sell your goods and services, find new vendors or partners, let companies know you’re looking for a job—whatever you want. Posting an ad is easy, fast and free.

Happy New Year, and best wishes to you and yours in 2012!
