Questions remain on biomass project as public process coming to close

In a way, Thursday’s Missoula City-County Air Pollution Control Board meeting represents the end of the public process on the University of Montana’s proposed woody-biomass gasification boiler project.

Yet two significant questions remain unanswered: Is this project cost effective, and where will the fuel come from?

On many levels, the fate of the project is more ambiguous than ever.
