Conservation groups have filed four lawsuits against the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, over a half-dozen timber sales they say were not prepared in accordance with federal environmental policy.
The latest complaint was filed last week in federal court in Medford, Ore., against BLM by Klamath-Siskiyou Wildlands Center, Oregon Wild and Cascadia Wildlands, the Ashland Daily Tidings reported.
The suit asks the court to block a timber sale in the Conde Creek Drainage northwest of Howard Prairie Lake near Ashland.

George Sexton is at it again. The idea that a tree that is 30″ DBH is old growth is laughable, especially in the forest types these sales are in. He’s used the 30″ standard to bludgeon agencies for years and it’s a spurious argument. He’s agreed to sales in spotted owl habitat before, but now it’s part of the basis for KSWild’s lawsuits. Come on George, let’s come back into the world of reality and truth. How about it?
