Construction of a new $9 million upgrade at a Boardman mill will assure an efficient supply of core veneer used at Columbia Forest Products Klamath Fall plywood mill.
Mark Slezak, timber manager for the Klamath Falls mill, said the Boardman upgrade will not increase the number of Klamath Falls employees but will improve production of its decorative grade plywood used in making cabinets and furniture. He said the Klamath Falls plant has about 215 employees and runs two shifts daily.
The Boardman upgrade will add 15 to 18 employees.
