A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit in which a family logging company in California accused the U.S. Forest Service of violating timber sale contracts.
Pew Forest Products of Crescent Mills, Calif., had won two timber sale contracts offered by the agency in the Plumas National Forest in 2007.
Negotiations between the Forest Service and environmental groups that sued to stop timber sales stalled the agency’s approval of Pew’s contracts after the company was declared the high bidder.
