FBN staff recently watched an excellent webinar titled “Will 2012 be the year you start exporting?” that was hosted by the North American Wholesale Lumber Association (NAWLA). While Russ Hobbs of Plum Creek Timber moderated, Craig Larsen, president of the Softwood Export Council (SEC), gave an enlightening overview of wood export markets and what’s in store for North American producers who want to get in on the action.
This webinar is very much worth a look. We think you’ll find it as valuable as we did, so we posted the 60 minute webinar on our site with permission from NAWLA and SEC. Click here to watch the webinar.
Craig mentions in the webinar that SEC offers trade missions to China and Japan that you may be able to take part in, with most of your expenses paid through federal dollars. Interested parties can contact SEC for more details and be sure to check out the SEC calendar for dates and details on 2012 trade missions and tradeshows. As Craig states in his presentation, if you’re thinking about exporting to either of these countries then going on an SEC-hosted trade mission beforehand is invaluable.
